A few weeks back I mentioned that I was busy with my school orchestra and would be participating in a music competition at the end of November. I'll be really busy with the competition for four days (not counting the day I get back home) so there's already one or two posts scheduled, and I thought it would be fun to share the books and bookish items I'm bringing along with you! By the time this is posted I'll already be on the bus and I'll be hella excited. So for now, behold - bookish stuff I'm adding to my already-sagging backpack -there wasn't a lot of space to begin with anyway. This list might change, though. Who knows - I might take all of these items or I won't take any or them at all (BUT THE BOOK HAS TO COME).
BOOKS
Landline by Rainbow Rowell
I've been pining after Landline after a while because Rainbow writes one of the best and cutest contemporaries ever. I have always loved her books but still haven't gotten around to reading Landline! I was originally going to save Landline as a Christmas read - contemporaries at Christmas? Love! Contemporaries written by Rainbow at Christmas? Even better! But then I figured Landline would be a good book for the bus.
The Assasin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas
So...I finally read Throne of Glass some time ago.
But then I read Crown of Midnight and it was EVEN BETTER
like WHY HAVE I NOT READ THIS SERIES SOONER?!?
I wanted to start Heir of Fire right away. I desperately WANTED to, but I knew that I couldn't bring Heir of Fire with me. It'd either be too much of a distraction - just thinking of the awesomeness sitting in my backpack would make my emotions unstable enough I wouldn't be able to concentrate on the competition; or I would read it too quickly and miss some intense parts in the story as reading both Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight required some major concentration. I'd hate for myself to skip over anything, especially if it's a story that I love. (What I'm doing instead is to wait until the December hols - and then have the absolute time of life locking myself in my bedroom to read Heir of Fire.) But inner-Kat is stomping her feet and demanding that she must bring a fantasy book, so I looked around...and bingo.
FANDOM JEWELLERY/CLOTHING
TFiOS shirt
Because I live internationally, ordering fandom-based merch/clothing online is always a problem. One day I decided to make my own fandom clothing and quite surprisingly, it turned out to be really easy! Youtube and black Sharpies will be your best friend. Of course, you can't shake off the nagging feeling that something will go wrong during those D.I.Y. sessions but you just gotta go ahead and do it, y'know?
I went with my TFiOS "This is not a pipe" T-shirt. My dad doesn't understand why I even bothered and my mom still doesn't get it even after watching the movie, which is perfectly fine with me.

Carstairs Family Ring
The TMI family rings were an exception to my online merch-buying ban. I've forgotten where I ordered them from but you can get a more detailed and finely crafted version of the family rings at HebelDesign. I have two rings - a Carstairs and a Herondale. I know, I know. You'd take the Herondale ring, wouldn'tcha. Now take a deep breath before you read the next line or you *might* end up bashing your computer screen.
I love both boys, but I favour Jem more. *cowers* DON'T HATE ME

OTHER BOOKISH STUFF
Bookmark
You all know how much I love bookmarks. I treasure this bookmark deeply (it was given to me by a friend) and I trust myself not to lose it...because I have quite a penchant for leaving things behind.
Reading Glasses
If you read every day and don't have problems with your eyesight (which I think is a lot of people), I envy you. My eyesight has become so much worse since I started reading more books and it's becoming really unhelpful. But it's not like I don't take extra care of my eyes!
I've seen people read in so many unhealthly reading positions:
...but they'll have good eyesight.
Aaanyway...
It's always nice to bring something from home with you when you're out on vacation or going someplace far. We all get a little homesick even if it's just a few days, right? RIGHT? I hope you enjoyed reading what I brought for my trip - and wish me luck!
